Tangerine is built so your files stay yours. Here is exactly what that means.

The short version

Tangerine does not collect any data about you. Your files never leave your Mac. There are no accounts, no analytics, no ads, and no tracking of any kind.

Your files

Everything Tangerine does happens on your Mac. When you convert or edit a file, the work is done locally on your machine and the result is saved next to the original. Your files are never uploaded, sent to a server, or shared with anyone. Tangerine has no cloud component.

What we collect

Nothing. Tangerine does not gather personal information, usage statistics, device identifiers, or crash reports. There is no analytics software in the app.

Network

Tangerine works fully offline. The app does not connect to the internet to do its job, so none of your file data is ever transmitted.

Permissions

Tangerine only asks for access to the specific files you drag into it. macOS grants that access when you drop a file, and only for that file. Tangerine does not browse your disk or read anything you did not hand to it.

Third parties

Tangerine does not include any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services.

Children

Tangerine does not collect data from anyone, including children.

Purchases

Tangerine is sold through the Mac App Store. Any payment is handled by Apple under Apple's own privacy policy. We never see your payment details.
